knotted chain
A knotted chain is one of our favorites. The nodes of a chain originated in the time when pearls were still very expensive. They were still literally popped by pearl divers. To prevent the beads of a necklace strung would slide off if the chain should break was laid a knot between each pearl; the knotted chain.
Knotted chain not only with pearls
Now the same principle is still used. A knotted chain, however, does not have to be made more with pearls. Not only are pearls become cheaper (think cultivé pearl) but it is also used for other precious beads. As a result of the nodes of a chain is such a chain also very beautiful. That may be a reason to make myself one of those.
Nodes of a chain labor-intensive
The nodes of a chain is a labor-intensive process. Therefore Ilona's has several in stock for you. A knotted chain of Ilona's actually always strict with special beads. Examples are different types of agate beads, all of which are unusual for their shape and color, different kinds of quartz, of course mexican fire opal (Mexican fire opal) and labradorite beads. Each one special enough to offer in the form of a knotted necklace.
Do you want to make a knotted necklace?
Which can. On the Internet you can find various instructions to movies to it. What you need is time, it is not a rush job. Patience, all beginnings are difficult, and some tools. With good wire (which is at least 2.5 times as long as the length when the beads are threaded) and a pointed, not sharp tweezers, you can make a wonderful knotted necklace.
First you pull all the beads on the wire, then grab one end and a single bead. Create an unloading knot in the wire between the one bead and the rest. Stick your tweezers by these loose knot and grab your tweezers down the wire taut above the bead. Then tighten the knot. This slide the forceps tight on the bead. Then thread the next bead and repeat the process. With practice, you can make them yourself later.
