Fun facts...

Did you know that original black gits have a low specific gravity? When you hold the beads in your hand you will immediately feel it. Real Gitten do not feel cold and even feel a bit like plastic, but nothing could be further from the truth.

Old black faceted beads are often mistaken for Gitten, but if they feel hard and cold, they are in most cases old glass beads or Onyx beads. They are by no means real Gitten.

Not convinced? Just take a hammer and break a bead ;)

and did you know that Natural Git sometimes has some Pyrite inclusions. Pyrite can be oxidized by oxygen in the air. As a result, a single bead may appear damaged or even completely pulverized. This is therefore not damage but characteristic of natural Gitten.
