How to use crimp beads when making jewellery!
Crimp beads are small, soft beads which are usually “flatted”, or “pinched” onto a wire. This is normally done to close off the ends of a wire in order to prevent other beads from falling off. Additionally, they are also used in order to ensure that other beads on the wire stay in place. Not only are crimp beads very practical, they are also available in many different colours and materials. Generally, they are just a lovely addition to your jewellery.
In our shop, we have crimp beads in all sorts of shapes, sizes and materials. For example, we have beads of high quality sterling silver and real gold in our range.
Are you looking for something a bit more around your budget? We’ve got you covered. Choose the (just as) beautiful crimp beads in either a silver, gold or bronze colour. We also have a collection of beautiful crimp bead covers. These are a smart solution for those who may not want their crimp beads to be visible.
What kinds of jewellery are these crimp beads used for?
Since crimp beads are very practical and are available in various different versions, they can be used for lots of different kinds of jewellery. Use them to make a necklace, bracelet, or even a pair of earrings! However, these beads are not used when making rings as they are designed to be fastened onto a wire.
So, how do you use them?
You’ll be happy to hear that using crimp beads to make a necklace, bracelet or a pair of earring is not rocket science! Simply thread the bead onto a wire and crush it flat wherever you want it. This is done with a crimping pliers. This is a jewellery plier with two holes. The second hole on the pliers is used to squeeze the crimp bead. Only when the bead is properly flattened use the first whole press down the bead even better. After this procedure, the bead won’t be going anywhere!!
