Gold plated materials

As the gold filled parts, the gold plated parts have been given a layer of gold. However, unlike the gold filled parts, less gold is used. The gold layer is approximately 100 times thinner. This makes the gold plated parts a lot cheaper than the gold filled parts.

Does it wear off?

When taken care of properly, the gold filled parts will not lose their layer and last you for years. Gold filled parts keep their warm gold color and are named “lifetime jewelry” for a reason. Gold filled parts will save you a lot of money, not having to buy solid gold parts and having the same quality. Gold plated parts do tend to lose their gold layer in time. How fast this happens depends on the acidity of your skin and how often the jewelry is worn.
